Mandatory German city registration. Must be completed within 14 days of arrival in Germany at your local Buergeramt (citizen office). Akademische Prüfstelle (Academic Evaluation Centre) Certificate. Mandatory for ALL Indian applicants to German universities since 2020. Issued by APS IGC at German Embassy Delhi. International certification process making Indian documents legally valid in European countries. Required for all academic transcripts, marksheets, and degree certificates. Process: Apostille at Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Delhi. Cost: INR 50-100 per document. Processing: 3-4 weeks. Mandatory for all European university applications and student visa documents.
German residence permit. Issued after Anmeldung and student visa conversion. Valid 1-2 years for students, renewable annually. Required for legal residence beyond initial visa expiry. Application at Auslaenderbehoerde (foreigners office). Required documents: passport, biometric photo, rental contract, university enrollment, financial proof, health insurance.
EUR 11,904 mandatory deposit (2026 rate) Indian students must maintain in a blocked German bank account before visa application. Funds released monthly during studies (EUR 992/month). French government’s official agency for promoting French higher education internationally. India offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad. Mandatory pre-application registration for ALL Indian applicants to French universities (CEF procedure). Application portal: pastel.diplomatie.gouv.fr. Service fee: INR 5,000.
Germany’s points-based 12-month job-seeker visa for non-EU graduates (launched June 2024). Minimum 6 points required from: qualifications (1-3 pts), German language (1-3 pts), age (under 35 = 2 pts), work experience (1-2 pts), Germany connection (1 pt). Indian engineering graduates with B1 German + under 30 typically score 7-9 points. After Chancenkarte, secure job → convert to EU Blue Card.
French government scholarship for Indian students pursuing Master’s or research in France. Provides EUR 700/month stipend + visa fees waiver + tuition assistance. 200+ Indian awards annually. ISEE-Parificato is the Italian Consulate’s income equivalence certificate that converts an Indian student’s family financial situation into Italian ISEE framework. Without ISEE, Indian students pay maximum tuition tier (EUR 2,924-3,898/year). Issued FREE by your Indian university registrar. Must be on official letterhead with stamp.
Restricted enrollment policy at some European universities (especially Dutch universities, German medicine programs). Limits annual student intake; admission via competitive selection rather than first-come-first-served. Examples: TU Delft Aerospace Engineering (15% acceptance), German medical schools (NC-1.0 typically required), Dutch psychology programs.
Austrian Agency for Education and Internationalisation. Administers Austrian government scholarships for international students. Stipend: EUR 1,050/month for masters, EUR 1,300/month for PhD students. Free dormitory accommodation provided. 30+ Indian awards annually. Apply via grants.at portal.
Italian residence permit. Required within 8 days of arrival in Italy. Converts visa Type D into multi-year residence document. Italian National Health Service. Indian students enrolled at Italian universities can register for SSN at EUR 11/month flat rate. Covers: doctor visits, hospital stays, prescriptions, specialists, emergency care. Mandatory health insurance for visa application. Alternative: private insurance EUR 350/year.
Hungarian government scholarship for international students. Covers: 100% tuition fees + free dormitory + EUR 115/month stipend (Bachelor’s), EUR 130/month (Master’s), EUR 580/month (PhD) + free Hungarian healthcare + travel allowance. German language proficiency tests for university admission to German-taught programs. TestDaF (Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache): International standardized test, 4 sections (Reading, Listening, Writing, Speaking), B2-C1 level required. DSH (Deutsche Sprachprüfung): University-specific entrance exam. Both accepted for German-taught programs. Most English-taught programs do NOT require these.

Italian government central pre-enrollment portal for international students (universitaly.it). Mandatory registration before applying for Italy student visa. Italian Embassy verifies admission via Universitaly records. Used to: track application status, apply for VFS visa, document admission to Italian Consulate. Free, simple online registration.
Visa application processing partner for European countries in India. Centers in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata. Service fee approximately INR 1,300 + visa fee EUR 50-80 (paid to embassy). Processing times vary: Bengaluru typically fastest, Mumbai/Delhi medium, Kolkata slowest. Book appointments via vfsglobal.com 8-10 weeks ahead.
Official German university admission letter. Required for German student visa application. Typically received: April-June for September intake. Without Zulassungsbescheid (along with provisional acceptance), German visa cannot be processed. Universities issue this after final document review and admission decision.
