Applicants must nominate an occupation that is on the relevant skilled occupation list.
First, you need to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect to indicate your interest in applying for this visa. Submitting an EOI is not the same as applying for a visa and does not incur any fees. SkillSelect will assess your points based on the information provided in your EOI. You must score a minimum of 65 points to be eligible for an invitation to apply for the visa.
If you express interest in being nominated by a state or territory government agency, they will have access to view your EOI. You may need to separately apply to the state or territory to indicate your interest in their nomination. If they nominate you, you will receive an invitation to apply for the visa.
Once your EOI is submitted, it remains valid in SkillSelect for two years. You can log in to SkillSelect at any time to update your details if your circumstances change. If you receive an invitation to apply for the visa, it will be sent through SkillSelect. You must provide all necessary documents to support the claims made in your EOI regarding your identity, skills assessment, English proficiency, relationships, partner, sponsor, and character.
Upon receiving the invitation, you have 60 days to submit a valid online visa application before the invitation expires.
